By opening Marigold Spun you agree to these reading terms. If a clause does not sit well with you, the simplest remedy is to close the tab — there is nothing to cancel, because nothing here is purchased, subscribed to or licensed on an ongoing basis.
Editorial, not retail
Everything on this site is editorial. We publish technique notes, flavour studies and seasonal observations about candy making. We do not list prices, take orders, ship boxes or run a checkout, and no page on the site should be read as an invitation to buy.
- Flavour descriptions are tasting notes, not nutritional claims.
- Timings are written for a home kitchen with a sugar thermometer.
- Visits to the atelier are arranged by email, not through the site.
Cooking from our notes
Our method notes are tested on a marble slab, in Asheville humidity, with a specific cane sugar. Your kitchen will differ: pans conduct differently, sugar carries different moisture, and a cheap thermometer can be four degrees out. Treat our numbers as a starting point and trust your own senses.
You are welcome to cook, adapt and serve anything you read here, including commercially, provided you do not present our text or illustrations as your own. Hot sugar is genuinely dangerous — see the safety advisory before you begin.
Words, pictures, rights
The written text, the illustrated diagrams and the site design are the work of the Marigold Spun editorial desk and remain our property. You may quote a short passage with a clear credit and a note of where it came from. Reposting an entire article, or reusing the illustrations in your own publication, needs written permission first.
Fair use of the pages
Please do not:
- Scrape the journal to rebuild it as another publication.
- Present our pages as a storefront, ordering portal or price list.
- Insert advertising, frames or overlays around our content.
- Use the Marigold Spun name to imply that we endorse your product.
No promises of outcome
The journal is provided as it is. We cannot promise that a technique will work in your kitchen, that a flavour pairing will suit your palate, or that a batch will not crystallise. We can promise that we have tested what we describe, and that we describe our failures as readily as our successes.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, Marigold Spun is not responsible for losses arising from cooking, serving or sharing candy made with reference to this journal. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here should be read as a substitute for professional food-safety advice in your own jurisdiction.
Updates
These terms are reviewed when the journal changes shape — a new section, a new interactive card, a new format. The date in the sidebar is the date of the last review. Continued reading after a change means you accept the revised text.
